Carriage House Children's Center

The Carriage House Children’s Center is an early learning and childcare center located in the lower levels of the historic 1890s Wightman School Community Building in Squirrel Hill. Renovation to their 9,720 square foot facility emphasized green design and included a comprehensive overhaul of the HVAC system. The results were an increase in programming space by over 2,000 square feet, a savings of over 25% on energy costs, and the stabilization of fees paid by other non-profit tenants. The Carriage House Children’s Center has further distinguished itself in the marketplace by receiving LEED® for Existing Buildings Gold certification, only the second Existing Buildings certification in Pennsylvania, and the very first early learning center in the nation to meet this rigorous standard.

Classroom Renvations

As part of Moshier Studio's long standing relationship with the University of Pittsburgh, we have designed renovations to department and registrar-controlled classrooms in multiple buildings. The scope of work includes interior renovations and accessibility improvements, as well as retrofitting the existing lecture hall spaces to meet the current technological needs of the expanding academic program.

Charter School Relocation
Pittsburgh, PA
Moshier Studio assisted UAGPCS as a design consultant in their relocation to a renovated former parochial school in Larimer. Renovations include a new elevator and interior renovations to allow the building to support the charter school’s needs. Moshier Studio established guidelines for the building developer, reviewed cost proposals and construction work in place, designed a commercial kitchen, selected furnishings and finishes.
